![]() | Soft Soils 2026 will be held at the The Aula Conference Centre of the TU Delft. It offers a perfect combination of meeting rooms, an auditorium, various facilities, and large exhibition areas. The Spaceship of Delft The Aula of TU Delft is a true eye-catcher in the university district. Opened in 1966, it replaced the temporary use of the Sint Hippolytus Chapel in the city center. The architectural style of the TU Aula is known as brutalism, characterized by raw, unpolished, block-like forms. The building features an abundance of (reinforced) concrete, with visible traces of how it was processed-most notably in the massive structure of the auditorium (the main hall). The architects deliberately exposed the building's technical construction. Inside the Aula, you will find four lecture halls, a vast central hall, the Auditorium, and the Senate Hall, where PhD defenses take place. |
