ISSMGE and TC214
The International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) is the leading professional body representing the interests and activities of Engineers, Academics and Contractors worldwide, who actively participate in geotechnical engineering. With 90 Member Societies and 21,000 individual members from around the globe, ISSMGE serves as the hub for geotechnical engineering professionals.

The ISSMGE-TC214 on Soft Soil Engineering "Foundation Engineering for Difficult Soft Soil Conditions" plays a vital role in advancing knowledge and practice in the field of soft soil engineering. By establishing working groups, TC214 promotes interaction among practitioners and academics engaged in soft soil engineering to achieve greater cooperation and facilitate the exchange of information, experience, knowledge, and new ideas.

KIVI

The Royal Netherlands Society of Engineers (KIVI) is the leading professional association for engineers in the Netherlands, representing a community of over 13,000 members since its founding in 1847. Through its diverse network of more than 50 specialised sections, KIVI supports engineers at every stage of their careers, offering cutting-edge professional development tools, internationally recognised qualifications, and over 400 events annually - from lectures to technical workshops.

Within this network, KIVI Geotechniek serves as the dedicated department for geotechnical engineering, fostering innovation, knowledge sharing, and international collaboration in fields like soil mechanics and foundation engineering. Through its educational programs, industry-standard courses, and outreach initiatives such as the Geotechniek journal and Geonet platform, KIVI Geotechniek is a central hub for advancing geo-engineering practice and connecting professionals across the Netherlands and beyond.
