Soft Soils 2026 – International Conference on Advances and Innovations in Soft Soil Engineering
24–26 August 2026 | Delft, The Netherlands



We are pleased to invite you to the International Conference on Advances and Innovations in Soft Soil Engineering – Soft Soils 2026, taking place from 24 to 26 August 2026 in Delft, The Netherlands. Hosted by TU Delft and organized in collaboration with BlueBox Events, this conference brings together leading researchers, industry professionals, and early-career experts to share knowledge, present recent breakthroughs, and explore critical developments in soft soil engineering.

As urbanisation accelerates and climate change poses new risks, soft soil areas face mounting challenges-ranging from rising groundwater levels to increased infrastructure stress. Soft Soils 2026 offers a vital international platform to discuss innovative solutions, geotechnical strategies, and adaptive technologies designed specifically for building on and managing soft ground conditions.


Themes of Interest:
We invite high-quality submissions that explore recent research, experimental developments, innovative applications, and case studies related to soft soils.

 Themes include, but are not limited to:
  • Design, construction, performance, and monitoring on soft soils
  • Developments in laboratory and in situ testing
  • Behaviour of soft soils including Bio-Chemo-Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical coupling
  • Constitutive and numerical modelling of soft soils
  • On-shore, near-shore, and off-shore soft soils engineering
  • Climate impact and resilience, including vegetation
  • Machine learning and data analysis
  • Soft soils in Geo-engineering education
  • Others

Submission of Contributions 
We invite researchers, professionals, and academics to submit contributions to the conference. We are happy to announce that participants are welcome to choose between two types of contributions:

  • Extended Abstract (3-4 pages): Accepted extended abstracts will be available with open access on the ISSMGE website.
  • Full Conference Paper (6-8 pages): Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings indexed in Scopus.

Submissions must be uploaded in .docx  and .pdf format through the ISSMGE platform (ISSMGE Conference Review Platform), regardless of the contribution type selected. All submissions will be reviewed by the International Scientific Committee. 

Please note that all contributions will have a plagiarism check as part of the review process. Submission deadline: 15 February, 2026.

After acceptance of your submitted abstract, your contribution will be loaded into your personal ISSMGE account. You can continue the process on the "Conference Review Platform", which you can access by clicking your name at the top right of the ISSMGE webpage after login.

There you will be able to locate your abstract title under "Author" and submit the extended abstract or full conference paper as .doc and .pdf files, by clicking on the "View" button.
