Mirva Koskinen

Dr. Mirva Koskinen works as the Head of Geotechnics at the City of Helsinki in Finland, where she leads a team of 12 geotechnical engineers. She has a strong background in academia and in her PhD she specialized in the constitutive modelling of soft soils.

She has over 20 years of experience in geotechnical design in various challenging projects including large-scale urban development areas in Helsinki. She is currently the chairperson of the board of the Finnish Geotechnical Society.
